(Thymus vulgaris)

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) As a culinary herb:

Delays the putrefaction of meat. Essential oil of Thyme slows down the proliferation of bacteria and prevents the meat broth within in which the bacteria was cultured in the laboratory from going bad for three days.

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) as an Antiseptic

An intestinal antiseptic, valuable in gastric infections.
Used for treating colds, coughs and sore throats: Thyme is an excellent pulmonary disinfectant, useful for all respiratory infections. Thyme is very effective against mouth and throat infections.
